EXPERIENCE & SPACE

The module started with reading poems composed by a 17-year-old rebellious French poet, Arthur Rimbaud. Though his work was barely noticed in his own time, it continues to influence youth to this date.

Reading Rimbaud's poems was a whole new experience altogether, his small metaphors helped us to view the world in the 19th century through his lenses.

The module was divided into four stages:

1) Stage 1: Collecting objects (and then making an installation using those objects).

2) Stage 2: Writing a text (that describes the installation).

3) Stage 3: A drawing (that describes the text).

4) Stage 4: Performing an act (based on the text and the drawing).

Stage 2 :  Text

Walking under the scorching sun, thirsty, sweating, eyes closing, vision dimining. Watching the short shadow right below, following you everywhere. Wanting to jump in an ocean and drink all the water. Long strides, speedwalking, sweat dropping off the face, looking for shade. Finally, finds some. A wave of calmness and footsteps getting faster. Getting under the shade, shutting-unshutting the eyes repeatedly, wiping off the sweat and a long sigh. Cool breezes passing by, relieved, footsteps slower than a turtle, wanting to sit there. It's getting late. Spotting a personal shadow again, the sun slapping harder, tshirt hugging the back, trying to find an autorickshaw. Pacing yourself again, ignoring everything around, eyes shutting again. Hastening yourself and getting under the roof. Finding out you've reached the destination.
